Challenges
LIMIN South Bank is a vibrant Caribbean restaurant, bar, and event space located just moments from the Thames — and one of London’s most celebrated Caribbean dining destinations. Recently voted the UK’s Best Caribbean Restaurant at the UK Caribbean Food & Drink Awards 2024, and People’s Choice Restaurant of the Year at the Be Inclusive Hospitality Awards 2025, LIMIN brings the unmistakable spirit of Trinidad to the heart of the city.Founded by Trinidadian-born Chef Sham Mahabir, LIMIN is rooted in the rich culinary heritage of Trinidad & Tobago — a culture shaped by Indian, African, Chinese and Middle Eastern influences. The restaurant captures the iconic Trini feel-good atmosphere; a place where food, drink, music and community come together in true “lime-in” style. LIMIN is also known as the UK home of Doubles, Trinidad’s beloved street food, served alongside Caribbean favourites such as jerk chicken, roti and Island fish and chips. As the brand grew in popularity, the team needed a menu that could reflect the Caribbean energy, story, and warmth — while still functioning as a structured, commercially effective tool to drive sales.With a diverse customer base and a high-volume location in South Bank, the challenge was to create a menu that not only showcased LIMIN’s vibrant dishes but also communicated the brand’s identity, heritage and personality in a clear, visually engaging way.
Solution
We designed a beautifully crafted A3 double-sided menu that became the centrepiece of the LIMIN guest experience. The layout was thoughtfully structured to guide customers naturally through the offering — highlighting hero dishes, supporting upsells, and ensuring readability across a busy, energetic environment. Colour, typography and imagery were carefully selected to evoke the warmth, rhythm and effortless joy of Caribbean culture, allowing guests to feel transported without ever leaving London.By blending functional clarity with expressive design, the menu not only celebrated LIMIN’s Trinidadian roots but also worked strategically to enhance customer engagement and drive sales. The final result was a vibrant, cohesive menu that captured the essence of a Caribbean lime — inviting guests to relax, explore and enjoy every flavourful moment.
